Celebrating Four Years by Giving Back Four years ago, Ekkartavya Foundation began with a simple belief — that every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference in someone's life. Since then, a group of dedicated young people has continued to spend their Sundays serving children in labour areas, construction sites and slum communities by sharing food, care and hope. To mark the completion of four years of Ekkartavya Foundation, the team chose to celebrate not with a conventional celebration, but by reaching children who needed support the most. On 21 June 2026, the volunteers travelled to Dhamad Vihir Village in Subir Taluka of Dang district, where they organized a special outreach programme at the village primary school. Reaching a Remote Community Dhamad Vihir is located deep inside a remote rural area, far from urban centres and the main road. The village has limited access to several basic facilities, and mobile network connectivity is not available in the area. Reaching the village itself was a journey — but for the Ekkartavya team, the distance was not a barrier. It was a reminder of why such initiatives are important: support should reach children wherever they are, not only where it is convenient to provide it. Supporting Education Through Essential Supplies As part of the anniversary outreach, Ekkartavya Foundation distributed educational and school stationery items to the children. The supplies included: Notebooks School bags Pouches Pencil sets Ballpen sets Geometry boxes Drawing papers For many children, these basic school materials can make a meaningful difference in their daily educational journey. A notebook provides a place to learn. A school bag carries more than books — it carries a child's aspirations. A drawing paper gives a child the freedom to imagine. Through these small contributions, Ekkartavya Foundation wanted to encourage the children to continue learning, exploring and dreaming about their future. Sharing Food, Happiness and Togetherness The celebration also included a special meal prepared for the children. The children enjoyed a traditional meal consisting of: Undhiyu Mango Ras Puri Dal Rice Papad They were also served biscuits, cake and chocolates, adding an extra touch of sweetness to the occasion. The meal was not merely a food distribution activity. It was an opportunity for the volunteers and children to come together, share smiles and celebrate the foundation's four-year journey of service. What began as a humble initiative has now blossomed into a powerful movement of love, unity, and compassion. To celebrate this special milestone, we organized a special event at Kalibel Ashram Shala, Vaghai (Dang District), surrounded by the lush greenery of Dang. 🌟 Special Activities Understanding that nourishment is not just of the body but also of the mind, we conducted an engaging Quiz Competition for students of Std 1 to 12—both boys and girls participated enthusiastically. Their smiles, excitement, and competitive spirit made the day truly special. 🍽️ Delicious Food Served No celebration is complete without food—and we made sure the children enjoyed every bite of this special meal: Punchkutiyu Shak, Puri, Mango Ras, Idda, Dal, Rice, Khajur Paak,Papad Fresh, healthy, and filled with love—our meals are not just food, but a promise of care. 🎁 Stationery Kit Distribution To encourage the children's education journey, we distributed stationery kits to all the students, which included: Full-size & small-size Notebooks Pencil Pouch Ballpen & Pencil Slate (for younger kids) These tools may be small, but for these bright students, they are the building blocks of their dreams. ❤️ Thank You to Our Supporters This milestone was only possible because of the unwavering support of our volunteers, donors, and well-wishers. On June 24th, 2024, we had the privilege of bringing our weekly mission of kindness to Pardi Kande Ashram Shala, located in Sachin, Surat, where the children were filled with excitement and gratitude as they gathered to receive both a wholesome meal and essential supplies. A Heartwarming Meal of Care This Sunday’s meal was a vibrant and wholesome spread that included Veg Sabji, Puri, Dal, Bhat, Mango Ras, Salad, and Papad. The children eagerly came together, excited for the delicious meal that awaited them. For many, this is not just a regular meal—it’s an opportunity to sit down with their friends, share in the joy of a hot, nutritious meal, and feel connected to the larger community that cares about them. The combination of Mango Ras added a sweet touch to the meal, and the Salad and Papad provided a perfect balance to the flavors. The children enjoyed every bite, their faces lighting up with joy as they ate, knowing they were getting a meal made with love and care. These moments are not only about satisfying hunger but also about providing the children with the energy they need to continue their education, grow, and dream. Empowering Through Education and Comfort In addition to the nutritious meal, Ak Kartavya also distributed school stationery and footwear to the children. The stationery—which included notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners—ensures that every child has the tools they need to pursue their studies without hindrances. On December 17th, 2023, we once again had the privilege of impacting lives at Dhamad Vihir Prathmik Shala in Daher, Dang District—a school where many children come from underprivileged backgrounds and face challenges in accessing basic needs. A Feast of Care and Compassion This Sunday’s meal was a comforting spread designed to nourish both the body and the soul. The children were served a wholesome meal of Veg Sabji, Puri, Dal, Bhat, Gajar Halwa, Chaas, Salad, and Papad. The children eagerly gathered, their faces lighting up as they were handed this warm, nutritious meal. For many, this meal is a rare moment of joy—a time when they can sit together, share a meal, and feel part of something bigger than themselves. The combination of flavors, from the tangy Gajar Halwa to the refreshing Chaas, not only satisfied their hunger but also provided a moment of comfort and connection. This meal is more than just food—it’s a reflection of our belief that every child deserves to feel cared for, supported, and empowered. Supporting Education with Stationery and T-shirts In addition to the nourishing meal, we also distributed school stationery and T-shirts to each child. The stationery—containing notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners—helps eliminate barriers to their education. On February 5, 2023, our team visited Zankhri Ashram Shala, a school for underprivileged children in the Vyara district of Surat, with a mission to spread joy, nourishment, and support for education. 🍲 A Feast Filled with Love We served a special meal to all the children from Std. 1 to Std. 10, consisting of: Pav Bhaji – a flavorful favorite among children Fresh Salad – to encourage healthy eating habits Chaas (Buttermilk) – a refreshing traditional drink Cake – a sweet treat to brighten their day The sight of smiling faces, laughter, and plates filled with delicious food made it a truly memorable afternoon. For many children, it wasn’t just a meal – it was a celebration of care and community. 🎒 Supporting Education Through Stationery Kits Along with the food, we distributed school stationery kits to every student. On March 26, 2023, our team visited the Sonda Mitha Halpati Ashram Shala in Olpad District to bring that very belief to life. The day started with the distribution of breakfast and cold drinks, refreshing the young students and setting a positive tone for the activities ahead. The excitement in the air was contagious, as children gathered with curious eyes and eager smiles. We served a special meal filled with love and nutrition, including: Pav Bhaji Pulav Gulab Jamun Salad Chaas Papad Each dish was carefully prepared to provide both nourishment and delight — because for us, food is more than sustenance; it’s a way to show care. But the joy didn’t stop at the dining area! We organized a Musical Chair Game, where laughter echoed through the school grounds as children danced, played, and cheered for their friends. It was a beautiful reminder of how little it takes to create big memories. This event was not just about food — it was about connection, compassion, and community.
